  If you are looking for an old school, neigborhood bar, step right in. The ground floor features a horse shoe bar, several booths, tables and about a 15 bar stools. There's a decent selection of beers on tap and bottles and long necks sitting in ice just behind the bar. The kitchen churns out good value, no nonsense burgers, fries, onion rings and sandwiches. It's a gathering place for Montclair's eclectic populous. Blue collar, while collar and no collar. Sports groups, women for ladies nights out and the town's large group of au pairs. The beers are cheap and the service friendly. There's another bar upstairs where the space is used for music acts, short and plays. Trivia note: The interior of Tierney's doubled as a Canadian Hunting Lodge where Tony Soprano gets into a fist fight with Canadian Prescription drug dealers.

  A good family choice during non-bar hours as well -- drop in for lunch or a snack and the bar food is perfect for kids.
